Frequently Asked Questions About MMF Cash Drawers

How do I open my printer driven Interface Cash Drawer ?
MMF Cash Drawers that connect to a receipt printer, require the POS application to send the proper opening codes to the printer, which will then send the signal to open the Cash Drawer. Consult the software documentation for your particular printer for the proper open codes
Typically the open code is placed in a field or series of fields under a Configuration, Utilities or Setup portion of a POS application. For example, with an Epson printer the following code would be entered in your printer setup

Does it matter which end of the Cable Assembly plugs into the printer and which end plugs into the Cash Drawer on my Heritage series Cash Drawer?
Yes. The correct ends must be plugged into the receipt printer and cash drawer. The end of the cable that has a label with the cable part number will plug into the Cash Drawer. For example the end that reads.  226 199STSP10 00 would plug into the Cash Drawer and the end that has a label that reads:  ”Connect to Star Printer “would plug into a Star receipt printer.

How can I test my Multi-Serial Cash drawer ?
The instruction manual can  be downloaded from the web site here.
Follow the instructions on page 6 of the Multi-Serial Interface Operator’s manual that came with your cash drawer or from the downloaded file .
A test utility and driver are also available here.
Click on MMF OPOS V1.9 exe  and follow the instructions to download. After the file is downloaded, follow the prompts to install the driver.  Please read the file MMF Cash Drawer Readme.doc for instructions on running the program and configuring the cash drawer.

How can I test my USB Interface Cash Drawer ?
Your USB Cash Drawer came with a CD that contains a test utility and driver. The driver can also be downloaded here.
The USB Interface Cash Drawer can also be tested with our OPOS driver and test utility which can be downloaded here.

Are Drivers available for MMF Cash drawers ?
MMF does not provide drivers for printer driven Cash Drawers. Contact the printer manufacturer for drivers for your particular printer.
MMF does provide drivers and test utilities for the various Cash Drawers that connect to a PC. See the drivers section on the website for the latest divers and utilities.
